Description:
Produced on the volcanic soils of Mount Vulture in Basilicata, it expresses the typical characteristics of the grape variety in its native terroir. Ruby red in color with purple hues, the nose offers intense notes of ripe red fruits, primarily currants and blackberries, dark spices, and mineral notes typical of the volcanic soil. On the palate, it is structured and powerful, with evident yet elegant tannins, very smooth, and a lovely woody finish. Excellent with traditional dishes, especially those based on bold meats.
A winery located directly above the first historic crater of the Vulture complex, born from the passion of the two Carbone siblings, Sara and Luca, who in 2005 decided to change their lives and dedicate themselves to the vineyard (which now comprises over 7 hectares of vineyards). This Aglianico is dedicated to Charles of Anjou, from 10-year-old organically farmed vines at the foot of Mount Vulture. After traditional maceration on the skins in stainless steel and an initial malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in used barrels stored in tuff caves at a constant temperature and natural humidity for approximately 14 months.
