The most prestigious expression of the Diplomático range, this rum is distilled exclusively in copper pot stills according to a traditional method that requires particular expertise and begins with the selection of the finest Venezuelan molasses. After distillation, the rum is aged for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels in a unique microclimate at the foot of the Venezuelan Andes. A two-year aging in former Pedro Ximénez barrels adds further complexity (in addition to aromas of raisins and dried figs). Production is limited to a few thousand bottles per year, each numbered.
