Description:

Amber/orange in color with golden highlights, it features a light haze and a lively perlage. On the nose, it is distinguished by a complex aromatic profile, with notes of ripe fruit, aromatic herbs, dried flowers, and hints of yeast. The palate is structured and enveloping, with good acidity and delicate tannins resulting from maceration. The natural effervescence balances the complexity, lending dynamism and drinkability. It closes with a persistent and aromatic finish. Its complexity and structure make it ideal with rich Piacenza dishes such as stews, game, and aged cheeses. It also pairs well with spicy dishes and boldly flavored ethnic cuisine. It pairs interestingly with porcini mushrooms and truffles. Its versatility also makes it suitable for all meals.

The Croci winery is located on the Monterosso hill in the Arda Valley, overlooking the Piacenza plain. Massimiliano Croci, along with his father Ermanno, manages the family winery founded in 1935. Ten hectares of vineyards are planted entirely with classic Piacenza grape varieties, using no herbicides or chemical fertilizers, but instead practicing grass cover and other traditional Emilian viticultural methods. The grapes, predominantly white, are harvested by hand and ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, with maceration on the skins for 11-15 days, giving the wine its characteristic amber color and an unusual tannic structure for a white. After a brief aging period, the wine is bottled with a small amount of unfermented must that triggers secondary fermentation in the bottle. The wine remains on its lees without disgorgement, preserving its character and authenticity.
