Description:

It presents itself in the noble, shining gold color of the Saint-Romain terroir. On the nose, the citrus bouquet of fresh flowers and vanilla immediately strikes with its austere minerality , which on the palate reveals itself to be the founding characteristic of this wine, perfectly balanced with the pungent yet almost creamy acidity, with nuances of damp stone and undergrowth fused with green apple and lemon. It has great structure and excellent aging potential (after 6-7 years, delicious notes of toasted almonds and scorched earth seem to emerge ). Excellent as an accompaniment to delicate fish dishes or light cheeses.

As the name itself suggests, “perrière,” meaning “ stone breaker ,” its main characteristic is stone, the highly calcareous soil of the vineyard from which it takes its name, which in the past was a quarry of whitish stone , from which part of the old village was built. And if the Buissons in Saint-Romain have been winemakers since at least the eighteenth century, Henri, in 1947, when Saint-Romain obtained its AOC, with his 5 hectares and his wife Monica, was the pioneer of his own personal approach to winemaking, one of great respect and care for the terroir, which he passed down first to his son Gilles and then to his grandsons Franck and Frédérick : the now over 20 hectares of the estate, which Henri has been cultivating according to organic principles since the 1960s, obtained organic certification in 2009 and for several years have been worked exclusively biodynamically .
