Description:

Bright gold in color with amber highlights, it offers an intense and refined bouquet of candied apricot, acacia honey, and orange peel, with notes of saffron, vanilla, and an elegant finish of exotic fruit. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, with a sweetness perfectly balanced by a refreshing acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of notes of candied fruit and honey.

Château La Garenne, located in the prestigious Sauternes appellation, south of Bordeaux, produces this wine following the region's centuries-old tradition. The grapes are attacked by "noble rot" ( Botrytis cinerea ), a fungus that, under specific climatic conditions, dehydrates the berries, concentrating sugars, aromas, and acidity. The harvest is manual, with several selective passes through the vineyards to select only perfectly botrytized berries. After gentle pressing, the must ferments slowly in French oak barrels, where the wine ages for approximately 18 months. 2022 was considered an excellent vintage for Sauternes, with a perfect balance between concentration and freshness.
