Description:
Bright gold in color with golden highlights, it presents an elegant and complex bouquet of apricot, yellow peach, and honey, with notes of candied citrus, vanilla, and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, it is sweet and harmonious, with a freshness that perfectly balances the richness and sweetness, providing balance and drinkability. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of fruity and honey notes.
Château Liot is located in the commune of Barsac, one of the five communities that make up the Sauternes appellation, known for its slightly fresher and less opulent wines compared to other areas of the appellation. The property, which extends across approximately 25 hectares, has been managed by the Darrompar family for several generations. The grapes are harvested manually in several selective passes, selecting only those affected by Botrytis cinerea at the optimal time. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature, and the wine ages in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months, developing aromatic complexity while maintaining the typical freshness of Barsac.
