Description:
In the glass, it displays an elegant salmon pink with coppery highlights. The nose immediately reveals its complexity, with hints of crisp red berries, citrus notes of pink grapefruit, and an intriguing nuance of Mediterranean herbs, accompanied by subtle saline notes. The palate reveals a silky and enveloping texture, where vibrant freshness intertwines with a precious savory component and a remarkable structure, unusual for this category. The finish is remarkable, reminiscent of Mediterranean scrubland. Perfect with traditional Marseille bouillabaisse and other Mediterranean fish soups, it is excellent with Provençal ratatouille and herb-based rabbit dishes. It is also ideal with black olive and anchovy tapenade on crostini or with semi-mature goat cheeses. A classic regional pairing is with daube provençale (beef stew in red wine).
Château Sainte Anne represents one of the most authentic and traditional expressions of the Bandol appellation, a marine area east of Marseille, famous for its Mourvèdre-based wines. The estate, run by the Dutheil de la Rochère family, has produced this rosé following certified biodynamic methods since the 1960s. Vinification involves gentle direct pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging on the lees, which gives the wine greater complexity and longevity, characteristics that distinguish Bandol rosés from other Provençal rosés.
