Description:
It presents itself in the glass with a beautiful golden yellow color. The nose opens with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, white flowers, and hints of exotic fruit. On the palate, it reveals excellent freshness, good acidity, and an overall balance of savory and minerality, with a chalky finish. Excellent with fish dishes, it pairs perfectly with poultry and white meats.
Produced in the Pierres Dorées area, named for the distinctive golden hue of the local limestone, this white Beaujolais, aged on the lees for approximately a year with frequent bâtonnage, represents a distinctive expression of Chardonnay. Jean-François Coquard, born in Beaujolais, represents the 13th generation of Coquard winemakers. After earning a Master's degree in Oenology from the prestigious University of Burgundy and 15 years of managing the Tenuta Mazzolini estate in the Oltrepò Pavese area, he realized his dream of opening his own winery in southern Beaujolais, JFC Vins, which would place him among the appellation's rising stars.
