Designation of origin: Beaujolais AOP
Color: red
Type: still
Grape variety: Gamay
Alcohol content: 12.5%
Bottling location: Chessy, Beaujolais (FRANCE)
Description:
Bright ruby red in color, it expresses subtle fruity aromas of raspberry and red berries on the nose, along with a bold chestnut note, combined with lovely earthy, minerally nuances. Dry, light-bodied, and with intense acidity balancing the subtle tannins, it offers fruity and violet notes, with a hint of spice. It pairs perfectly with vegetable dishes, pork, and even rice and bean tacos.
Hailing from the Pierres Dorées area in southern Beaujolais, this wine expresses the characteristics of Gamay on limestone-rich flint soils, differing from the more typical expressions of the grape variety on granite soils in the north of the appellation. It is aged in stainless steel barrels until bottling in the spring of the following year to preserve its finesse and aromatic complexity, then briefly aged in concrete.
