Appellation of origin: Champagne AOC
Color: white
Type: Champenoise Method sparkling wine
Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay
Alcohol content: 12%
Production area: Côte des Bar, Aube (FRANCE)
Description:
Pale gold in color with amber highlights, with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose reveals complex notes of dried fruit (hazelnut, almond), candied citrus, acacia honey, and a light spice. On the palate, it is rounded and structured, with fine bubbles, good flavor, and a long, creamy finish, where hints of pastry and sweet spices resurface.
Perfect as a Champagne throughout the meal: excellent with poultry in white sauce, buttered fish, delicate risottos, or soft, mature cheeses (Brie, mature Camembert). Also excellent with classic white meats or veal.
Founded in 1846, Maison Devaux has deep roots in the Côte des Bar, historically less celebrated but now recognized as one of the most dynamic areas of Champagne. Cuvée D represents the house's signature: it is made from a rigorous selection of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes sourced exclusively from sustainably managed vineyards. The blend includes a significant percentage of reserve wines aged in oak. The secondary fermentation is followed by a long aging on the lees—a minimum of five years—which imparts extraordinary creaminess and complexity. It is a Champagne conceived with a Burgundian mindset: substance, depth, and evolution.
