Description:
Bright straw yellow in color, it presents an aromatic bouquet on the nose that combines the floral notes of Sauvignon Blanc with the citrus aromas of Gros Manseng. Semi-dry and fruity, with a pleasant freshness from the Sauvignon blending with the structure, roundness, and persistence typical of Gros Manseng. A slight sweetness and delicate aromas of white flowers add a touch of softness that makes the difference. Perfect as an aperitif or paired with white meats and fish. Very versatile at the table: excellent with seafood, especially oysters and scallops, it pairs beautifully with fresh goat cheeses, summer salads, and Gascon dishes such as confit de canard. It also pairs excellent with the typical Bayonne ham and asparagus-based dishes.
Domaine d'Espérance, led by Claire de Montesquiou, embodies a story of returning to one's roots: after a career as a headhunter in England, Claire decided in 1990 to return to her ancestral land in Gascony, a region primarily known for Armagnac. She now manages a 40-hectare estate, which she has successfully revitalized by showcasing both native and international grape varieties. This wine is a late-harvest wine made on sandy-clay soils. Its vinification involves overnight maceration on the skins, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures and aging on the lees in stainless steel. The bottle's label was designed by renowned French fashion designer and artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
