Designation of origin: Sud-Ouest AOC Cahors
Color: red
Type: still
Grape variety: Malbec (Merlot occasionally in a small percentage)
Alcohol content: 12.5%
Bottling location: Carnac-Rouffiac (FRANCE)
Description:
It presents itself in the glass with a beautiful, intense ruby red color, with an equally bold bouquet of red fruit jam and wildflowers such as violet, with a hint of plum. On the palate, blackcurrant returns, with a light acidity that balances the medium body, enhanced by the strictly stainless steel aging. Excellent as an aperitif, or with grilled red meats and cheeses, it pairs easily with almost any dish and does not mind a brief aging, although it is best enjoyed young.
The Molinié family has lived in the village of Carnac-Rouffiac since the 14th century, and neither Matthieu nor his wife Virginie, both oenologists and winemakers, show any intention of abandoning the family tradition. This wine represents the authentic expression of the Cahors terroir, the birthplace of Malbec (known locally as Côt) before its spread to Argentina. Vinification in stainless steel preserves the freshness and purity of the fruit, allowing the grape variety to express itself in its most natural form.
