Description:
It has a clear, golden perlage with subtle greenish highlights. On the nose, floral notes of acacia, lime, and honey emerge, along with nuances of almond, pear, and an exotic touch of pineapple and candied citrus. On the palate, it is bold, fresh, dense, and mineral, with a predominance of fruity aromas and an elegant finish.
Belle Epoque has become the Maison's signature vintage, a cuvée produced only in select years and left to mature on the lees in the bottle for at least 60 months, sold in its original wooden case.
Perrier-Jouët was founded in 1811 in Epernay, from the marriage of cork manufacturer Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Adele Jouët. This marriage would lead to the creation of the first ever brut Champagne in 1854 (and their son Charles, who encouraged its production), as well as the practice of mentioning the vineyard and harvest year on the label. A regular supplier to Queen Victoria, Napoleon III, and the royal families of Sweden and Belgium, Perrier-Jouët built its reputation by prioritizing quality over quantity, successfully preserving, cellarman after cellarman, the oldest known Champagne vintage (1825).
