Description:
It features a delicate and luminous salmon pink hue. The nose opens with fruity and citrus aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry, and pomegranate, combined with subtle hints of violet and rose. Among the most elegant of the house (and perhaps of the area), well-structured and with a lively freshness that complements the lingering savory flavor, it is perfect as an accompaniment to meat and fish tartare or grilled fatty fish.
Perrier-Jouët was founded in 1811 in Epernay, from the marriage of cork manufacturer Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Adele Jouët. This marriage would lead to the creation of the first ever brut Champagne in 1854 (and their son Charles, who encouraged its production), as well as the practice of mentioning the vineyard and harvest year on the label. A regular supplier to Queen Victoria, Napoleon III, and the royal families of Sweden and Belgium, Perrier-Jouët built its reputation by prioritizing quality over quantity, successfully preserving, cellarman after cellarman, the oldest known Champagne vintage (1825).
