Grape variety: Friulano (Tocai Friulano)

Description:
A delicate straw yellow with greenish hues, the nose offers a complex and captivating bouquet, with floral notes of acacia and chamomile and hints of white-fleshed fruit such as pear and peach, along with nuances of almond and aromatic herbs typical of the grape variety. The palate is clean, velvety, with great freshness and lively flavor, with a long, slightly bitter finish that enhances the overall effect. A medium-bodied, very elegant wine, vinified according to tradition with temperature-controlled fermentation and aged in stainless steel for 5 months on the lees, making it ideal as an aperitif, with white meats, beef carpaccio, fresh cheeses, and, of course, fish and seafood dishes.
With over 500 years of history (since April 1499), the Villanova estate is the oldest in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Located on the border between the two DOC zones of Friuli's excellence, Isonzo and Collio, just a few kilometers from Slovenia, between Alpine winds and Adriatic breezes, it is characterized above all by its well-established attention to the "sculpting of the vineyard," as well as biodiversity and environmental protection, while also promoting research and innovation in winemaking.
