Bright straw yellow in color, it offers typical notes of white pepper, green apple, and delicate herbaceous aromas on the nose. Ideal with Austrian dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, freshwater fish, and spring vegetables.
The Alzinger winery, run by Leo Alzinger Sr. and Jr., is considered among the finest in the Wachau: their 10 hectares of terraced vineyards are located in the finest locations in Dürnstein, primarily on primary gneiss soils, and benefit from a unique microclimate created by the Danube River. The winery is also a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus, an association that protects and promotes the region's traditional wines according to the Steinfeder-Federspiel-Smaragd classification, with strict harvesting and vinification parameters and an alcohol content between 11.5% and 12.5%.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, with rigorous selection in the vineyard. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, followed by a brief aging on the fine lees with frequent bâtonnage.
