 GlenDronach Distillery, founded in 1826 by James Allardice, is one of the pillars of whisky production in the Scottish Highlands. It has always stood out for its dedication to traditional techniques and its particular focus on maturation in sherry casks. GlenDronach 12 Year Old, known as "Original," perfectly embodies this tradition through a maturation process that combines ex-Pedro Ximénez and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Furthermore, until 2005, it was the only distillery in Scotland to continue using coal-fired stills. This single malt is also characterized by the exclusive use of unpeated malt, a choice that enhances the rich, fruity notes derived from maturation in sherry casks. The result is a whisky with intense notes of dried fruit, raisins, dark chocolate, and spices, perfectly representing the house's traditional style.
