This single malt pays homage to the lake that has always provided water for the Ardbeg distillery. Launched in 2003, the result of a masterful blend of different Ardbeg malts, each aged differently, it quickly became one of the distillery's most celebrated products, winning numerous international awards. The decision to combine malts matured in ex-bourbon casks with a significant proportion of malts aged in ex-sherry casks gives the spirit the perfect balance between the intensity of Ardbeg's characteristic peat and the aromatic richness of sherry. The result is a whisky of great complexity, where intense notes of raisins, caramel, and dark chocolate harmoniously intertwine with the characteristic smokiness and briny touch typical of Islay whiskies. The decision to bottle at full strength preserves all the aromas and gives the whisky a particularly rich and enveloping texture.
