Kasei (火星, "Mars" in Japanese) is born from the pioneering vision of Mars Shinshu Distillery, founded in 1985 and recognized as Japan's highest whisky distillery. Located on the Miyata Plateau in the Central Alps of Japan, the distillery benefits from a unique microclimate characterized by significant temperature variations, pure air, and crystal-clear waters derived from melting Alpine snow.
This refined blend expertly combines malt and grain whiskies, patiently matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The altitude and Alpine climate give the spirit a distinctive maturation, with controlled evaporation gently concentrating the aromas and softening the character of the whisky. It combines delicate notes of acacia honey, green apple, and vanilla, with nuances of toasted cereals and a hint of spice, with a silky texture that evolves into flavors of caramel, stone fruit, and a touch of cinnamon.
