Formerly known as Old Oscar Pepper Distillery, it is a US National Historic Site, one of the oldest distilleries in Kentucky, with a history dating back to 1812. It is located in an area rich in limestone springs that provide iron-free water ideal for spirit production. After triple distillation, unusual for a bourbon, in three copper pot stills imported from Scotland, it is aged in new American white oak barrels, subjected to a specially developed toasting process. The barrels are stored in heated warehouses, which accelerate the interaction between the wood and the distillate.
