Description:
Intense straw yellow with golden highlights, it offers an elegant and complex bouquet on the nose, with notes of ripe tropical fruit, particularly pineapple and mango, followed by hints of white flowers such as acacia and jasmine. Delicate citrus notes and a light mineral nuance are also discernible. On the palate, the wine is rich and structured, with a pleasant freshness balanced by a remarkable smoothness, a good savory finish, and flavors of yellow-fleshed fruit, especially peach and apricot, enriched by an undertone of aromatic herbs and a long, lingering finish. Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with rich fish dishes, shellfish, white meats, medium-aged cheeses, and aromatic herb risottos. Its structure also makes it suitable for pairing with lightly spiced Asian cuisine.
Part of the wine, after a brief maceration on the skins followed by fermentation in stainless steel, is aged in French oak barrels for several months, giving the final product greater complexity and structure. Thanks to cutting-edge winemaking techniques, as well as the unique microclimate of the morainic hills of Lake Garda (here on the Brescia shore), the Costaripa winery, led by winemaker Mattia Vezzola, boasts a Lugana of great personality and finesse.
