Description:
A pearly pink with luminous coral highlights, the nose offers notes of pomegranate, wild strawberries, peach, and rose petals, complemented by nuances of medicinal herbs, hawthorn, and a delicate minerality reminiscent of lake breezes. The palate is welcoming and harmonious, combining fruity juiciness and savory energy in a well-defined yet never overpowering structure, supported by a crisp acidity that lends dynamism and persistence, leaving the palate pleasantly refreshed. It pairs perfectly with lake fish, particularly baked whitefish with aromatic herbs and Garda-style lavaret, and is also excellent with rabbit and typical local cured meats, such as Monte Isola salami and Morenico di Pozzolengo salami. It pairs particularly well with zucchini blossom and saffron risotto or traditional pasta with sardines.
The Costaripa winery, led by Mattia Vezzola, is leading the qualitative revival of rosé wines on the Brescia coast of Lake Garda. RosaMara is produced using the ancient "vino di una notte" (or lacrima) method, which involves macerating the freshly pressed grapes for approximately 6-8 hours. This traditional technique, combined with the influence of the lake's microclimate and the unique composition of the moraine soil, gives the wine a distinctive personality that has made it a benchmark in the panorama of quality Italian rosé wines.
