Description:
In the glass, it appears pale straw yellow with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose offers aromas of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit, with notes of citrus and bread crust, and nuances of butter and toasted almond. Generous and deep on the palate, with great freshness and a refined balance between its bold flavors.
Produced in the easternmost part of Franciacorta, in the Gussago subzone characterized by calcareous soils, this Blanc de Blancs represents the purest expression of Chardonnay according to the vision of Nicola Gatta, a winemaker whose production philosophy is based on the pursuit of authenticity and respect for the terroir. Low yields, the avoidance of chemical additives, and a focus on perfect maturation of the grapes according to biodynamic principles are among the hallmarks of Gatta's production, which continues in the cellar with spontaneous fermentations without subsequent fining or filtration, and in this case, even with zero dosage. Previously, the label also bore the designation "50 lune," indicating the months spent on the fine lees after secondary fermentation in the bottle.
