Description:

Bright ruby ​​red in color with garnet highlights, it presents an elegant and complex bouquet of red berries, violets, sweet spices, and balsamic notes, with a characteristic minerality typical of the Valtellina terroir. On the palate, it is refined and elegant, with perfectly integrated silky tannins and a freshness that balances the structure, lending the wine harmony and persistence.

The Sandro Fay winery, founded in 1973 in San Giacomo di Teglio, in the heart of Valtellina, is now led by his children Marco and Elena, who continue the family tradition. The Carteria Riserva comes from one of the estate's most prestigious vineyards, located on terraces that enjoy ideal exposure. Traditional vinification is followed by a lengthy aging period of at least 24 months in oak barrels and a further period in the bottle, as required by the Riserva regulations.
