Description:
Made from Vernaccia Nera grapes dried for at least three months, this wine is distinguished by an intense and complex aromatic profile. The nose reveals notes of ripe red fruit, with hints of spice and floral notes. On the palate, it is balanced, with good structure and a pleasant acidity that lends freshness and longevity. Aged in wooden barrels for at least three and a half years, it develops a fine tannic texture and a remarkable persistence.
Ideal with red meat dishes, game and mature cheeses.
Founded in the 1950s, the Alberto Quacquarini winery is the undisputed benchmark for Vernaccia Nera, a native grape variety that finds its finest expression here—the only one in Italy to require three fermentations. For this wine, the grapes undergo a light drying process before vinification, which involves controlled fermentation and a relatively long aging in wood. It is undoubtedly the winery's most classic and territorial product: rigorous craftsmanship and respect for local traditions.
