Description:

Straw yellow in color with greenish highlights, it expresses the unmistakable aromatic profile of Marlborough Sauvignon on the nose: intense notes of passion fruit, pink grapefruit, and tomato leaf, with characteristic hints of flint. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with a pronounced minerality and a long, savory finish. Perfect with seafood, especially local Marlborough oysters, it also pairs well with asparagus and herb-based dishes.

Cloudy Bay, founded in 1985, was the winery that made New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc famous worldwide. The vineyards benefit from the Marlborough maritime climate, with alluvial soils that impart the characteristic minerality. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel at low temperatures to preserve the varietal aromas. A small portion of the wine ferments with indigenous yeasts in used barrels to enhance complexity.
