Grape variety: Barbera

Description:
The nose opens with a symphony of cherry, blackberry, and raspberry, enriched with menthol nuances, delicate spices, and a hint of coffee. On the palate, the Barbera expresses itself with fullness and balance, supported by well-polished tannins and vibrant acidity, with a lingering finish that recalls fruity notes. Excellent with game, stewed venison or wild boar, and grilled red meats; also perfect with aged cheeses.
The Il Falchetto winery, now run by the Forno family, has its roots in the 17th century and is inextricably linked to the "Cascina Forno," still present on the maps of Santo Stefano Belbo. This wine is born from a deeply rooted tradition, guided by generations of winemakers who combine passion, technique, and respect for tradition. This legacy has been rigorously carried forward by Natalino and Luigi since the 1970s, in a journey of constant renewal and attention to quality. The grapes for this wine, produced only in exceptional vintages, are hand-picked, fermented in stainless steel for approximately 14 days, and then aged for 14 months in French oak barrels (30% new). It is then bottled unfiltered to preserve its fullness and structure.
