Description:

A dark ruby ​​red with garnet highlights, it presents a complex bouquet of aromatic herbs, cinchona, cloves, and cinnamon, with balsamic notes and an undercurrent of red berries typical of Nebbiolo. On the palate, it strikes a perfect balance between sweetness, bitterness, and alcoholic warmth, with extraordinary aromatic complexity. The finish is extremely persistent, with a long aftertaste of spicy and balsamic notes.

Barolo Chinato is a traditional Piedmontese aromatized wine made by infusing Calissaja quinine and other herbs and spices into Barolo DOCG. The Marcarini winery, a historic La Morra winery founded in 1850, produces this Chinato following an ancient family recipe, using its own Barolo as the base. The herbs and spices are infused directly into the wine, which is then sweetened and aged for several months before bottling.
