Description:

In the glass, it reveals a beautiful garnet color with intense, brilliant highlights. On the nose, it strikes with a robust, rich, and very elegant aroma, ranging from undergrowth to aromatic herbs such as sage and rosemary, to multiple yet subtle spicy notes and dried floral hints of violet and juniper, as well as ripe fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied, robust, and austere, with energetic tannins and a vaguely bitter aftertaste. It is well-balanced and has a delightfully persistent finish, suitable for long aging.

Born in Alba, the most important winemaking center of the Langhe, equidistant from Barolo and Barbaresco, on a plain directly overlooking the right bank of the Tanaro River, a wine that captivated the Antinori family. In the 2019 vintage, available here, it enjoyed an above-average winter and a cold, rainy spring that impacted the flowering process, as did the excellent summer temperature ranges. It was a decidedly challenging year, with a long harvest and a limited production, but one of rare excellence.
