Description:

An intense ruby ​​red in color with purple highlights, the nose offers a rich bouquet of ripe red fruits—black cherry, plum, and blackberry—with notes of sweet peppery spices, floral tones, and a hint of cocoa and licorice. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, medium-bodied, and well-structured despite its youth, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish with fruity notes. Ideal with meat-based pasta dishes, such as lasagna with ragù, but also roasts, grilled and stewed red meats, game, and medium-aged cheeses.

Italian winemaker Gaetano Morella and Australian winemaker Lisa Gilbee have combined their expertise to restore the ancient saplings, clean the soil, and preserve the Manduria region's winemaking heritage. The winery owns approximately 15 hectares of land with vines ranging in age from 40 to 90 years, producing a relatively small annual production of about 30,000 bottles. Primitivo, vinified on its own lees in old oak barrels and bottled without filtration, is the winery's signature grape, interpreted in a style that emphasizes freshness, cleanliness, and elegance.
