Description:
A coral pink color verging on pomegranate, it emanates aromas of black cherry and rose, creating an intense and refined floral bouquet. On the palate, it is fruity, extremely versatile, and extraordinarily drinkable, fresh and savory with a balanced acidity that adds vivacity. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts preserves the authenticity of the grape variety and terroir. It pairs excellently as an aperitif, with fish appetizers, shellfish, fried seafood, salads, fresh cheeses, and pizza. Perfect with Apulian specialties such as orecchiette with turnip greens, burrata, panzerotti, and traditional seafood dishes.
The Pietregiovani winery was founded in 2009 by Fabio Pietrogiovanni, who, after gaining experience in the financial sector in Milan, chose to return to his homeland with the intention of starting a new life in agriculture. In the beating heart of Puglia, the Pietregiovani winery, founded in 2008, represents a bold revival of the local winemaking heritage. Located in Gioia del Colle at 400 meters above sea level (the Primitivo vineyards for this rosé are an impressive 440 meters above sea level), the winery benefits from an extraordinary terroir with stony soils, comprising 9 hectares of olive groves, vineyards (Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Fiano), and fruit trees, cultivated with dedication and avoiding the use of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. The production philosophy focuses on quality and elegance, embracing organic methods and ancient techniques such as bush training. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks after a mere three-hour maceration, followed by aging in fiberglass. The wines exude freshness and complexity, breaking with traditional boundaries. Pietregiovani has established itself as a beacon of elegance and sustainability, as highlighted by Jancis Robinson in her celebrated "Wine Atlas."
