Blackadder Rawcask 9 Year Old is a distinctive rum that reflects the philosophy of Blackadder International, an independent Scottish bottler known for its purist approach to selecting and bottling spirits, which pass from cask to bottle unfiltered (and in the case of the Rawcask series, even without colorings and sweeteners), even retaining small particles of wood from the cask itself in the final product. It is produced from a selection of single casks from renowned Caribbean distilleries and aged for 9 years in a tropical climate, a period equivalent to much longer aging in a temperate climate due to the greater interaction between the spirit and the wood. The result is an intensely aromatic and profound rum that retains all of its natural components, including essential oils and aromatic compounds that are often lost through filtration.
