Description:
A deep ruby red with purple highlights, it offers a wild, Mediterranean bouquet on the nose, with notes of scrubland, ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a balsamic undertone characteristic of many Sardinian grape varieties. On the palate, it is structured and warm, with firm yet soft tannins, good persistence, and a long finish with hints of the island's garrigue and aromatic herbs. The blend of native grape varieties creates a characterful wine that expresses the strength of the Sardinian terroir. It pairs beautifully with roast lamb and pork, game, aged Sardinian cheeses such as pecorino and fiore sardo, and cured meats from the island. Perfect with traditional specialties such as malloreddus alla campidanese, culurgiones, and wild boar dishes.
Renosu Rosso is born from the blending of the concrete vats of Pascale, Monica, and Cannonau that failed to pass the selection process for bottling as single crus (Ottomarzo, Chimbanta, and Tenores). This rigorous selection philosophy ensures that even the winery's "second wine" maintains extremely high quality standards. Alessandro Dettori applies the principles of biodynamics and natural agriculture to this blend as well, rejecting all chemical and technological interventions, allowing the sandy, marine soil of Romangia to express its personality through native grape varieties vinified as single varietals and then blended.
