Description:

A deep garnet red with orange highlights, it offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit, dried plums, and morello cherries, along with notes of chocolate, tobacco, sweet spices, and a delicate balsamic finish. Warm and enveloping on the palate, it has a balanced sweetness and a substantial structure supported by soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is extremely long and persistent.

Anghelu Ruju, named after the archaeological site near the Stella & Mosca estate, is one of Sardinia's most iconic wines. The 2005 Riserva represents an excellent vintage for this wine. Made exclusively from slightly dried Cannonau grapes, it is vinified traditionally and then fortified with wine brandy. The process involves extensive aging, a minimum of five years, including at least three in oak barrels, which gives the wine complexity and structure. Stella & Mosca, founded in 1897, is one of Sardinia's most important wineries, with a long tradition of producing quality wines that express the island's unique terroir.
