Description:
Ruby red with garnet highlights, the nose reveals an elegant bouquet of red fruits, ripe cherry, and wild rose, with balsamic notes, spices, and a characteristic volcanic minerality. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, dry, with fine, well-integrated tannins, supported by the vibrant freshness typical of Etna wines. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of fruity and mineral notes. Ideal with Sicilian dishes such as Pasta alla Norma, Sicilian involtini, and grilled meats, it is also excellent with aged cheeses, game, and mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with elaborate preparations such as braised meats and stews.
Cantine Edomé Feudo di Mezzo produces this Etna Rosso from vineyards in the Passopisciaro area, on the northern slopes of Etna. The vineyards are bush-trained at approximately 700 meters above sea level, on mineral-rich lava soils. After fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 12 months, developing complexity while maintaining the typical elegance of Nerello Mascalese.
