Description:
It has a bright straw yellow color with greenish hues. The nose offers an elegant and intense bouquet, with citrus aromas, particularly lemon and grapefruit, followed by hints of white flowers such as hawthorn and chamomile, and a mineral note of flint, typical of Etna wines, along with delicate hints of Mediterranean aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and savory, with a medium structure and a lively acidity that lends tension and balance to the palate. The citrus and fruit notes and pronounced volcanic minerality are confirmed. The finish is long and persistent, lightly almondy. Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs magnificently with seafood appetizers, fish and vegetable-based first courses, such as pasta with sardines or spaghetti with clams, as well as grilled or baked fish, fresh cheeses, and light white meats.
Alta Mora is the Etna project of the Cusumano family (the "alta mora" in question is actually the Alto Monte Nero), combining an absolute respect for tradition with the most modern winemaking techniques. The vineyards, spread across different districts of Etna, allow them to capture the nuances of the volcano's diverse microclimates and terroirs, while stainless steel vinification and aging on the lees with periodic bâtonnage contribute to increasing complexity and structure while preserving the varietal aromas and freshness.
