Description:
With a deep ruby red color, it offers notes of ripe red fruits, black cherry, and plum, with hints of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering fruity finish. Excellent with traditional Sicilian dishes such as caponata, pasta dishes with ragù, grilled red meats, and roasts. It also pairs very well with medium-aged cheeses and cured meats.
The wine is made entirely in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and distinctive character of Nero d'Avola. The vineyards are located on the San Giacomo estate, where the limestone-rich soils and Mediterranean climate create ideal conditions for this native grape variety.
Cusumano is a story of family and innovation. Founded in 2001 by brothers Alberto and Diego, the company quickly established a prominent position in the Sicilian winemaking scene thanks to its uncompromising respect for native grape varieties combined with cutting-edge winemaking techniques, especially those aimed at sustainability (solar energy and water conservation in the vineyards).
