It has a deep ruby ​​color with purple hues, offering an elegant bouquet where notes of blueberry and ripe blackberry intertwine with hints of Mediterranean herbs, dark chocolate, and a hint of graphite. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with velvety tannins and a flavorful texture of dark fruit, sweet spices, and a hint of menthol. The finish is persistent and enveloping, with a return of balsamic notes and roasted coffee.

The Guado al Tasso Estate, the Antinori family's jewel in the Bolgheri region, extends across 320 hectares of vineyards in a natural amphitheater overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The area, known as the "little Italian Bordeaux," enjoys a unique microclimate, where sea breezes and the surrounding hills create ideal conditions for excellent viticulture. Cont'Ugo, created in the 1990s, was one of the first pure Merlots produced in Bolgheri, demonstrating the extraordinary potential of this varietal in the Bolgheri terroir.
