Description:

A brilliant ruby ​​color, the nose offers sweet and spicy notes of ripe dark berries and licorice, tobacco, and leather. Velvety tannins that vibrate on the finish contribute to the enveloping balance and great pleasure of this wine, which lends itself to long aging to allow all its aromatic complexity to emerge.

The Guado al Tasso estate lies at the foot of the hills of the so-called Bolgheri Amphitheater, a cluster of hills that create a unique microclimate. Its proximity to the sea and significant temperature variations ensure perfect ripening of the grapes and give them their distinctive, characteristic aromas. A small amount of Petit Verdot is sometimes added to the Cabernet and Merlot, "to represent"—in the producer's words—"the elegance, complexity, and structure of the Bolgheri terroir." It has been produced since 1990 from vineyards situated on alluvial soils, ranging from sandy-clay to silty-clay, with the presence of Bolgheri agglomerate (scheletro).
