Description:

Deep amber in color with golden highlights, the nose is generous with hints of apricot and dried figs, honey, candied fruit, and orange peel, along with notes of walnut, caramel, and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it is rich and enveloping, with an extraordinary sweetness balanced by a fresh acidity that prevents cloying. A very long finish, with a return of notes of dried fruit and honey.

Produced by the Contini Bonacossi family at the Capezzana Estate since 1925, using rigorous traditional methods: the Trebbiano and San Colombano grapes are hand-picked, selected, and then left to dry for several months on racks in ventilated rooms. After pressing, the must ferments and ages in small wooden barrels called "caratelli" for at least five years. The 2009 Riserva represents an exceptional vintage and has benefited from even longer aging, resulting in a wine of extraordinary complexity.
