Description:

Straw-yellow-green in color, it offers aromas of peach, apricot, and exotic fruit on the nose when young. As it ages, the tertiary hydrocarbon notes typical of Riesling amplify, albeit less pronounced than those of German versions grown at cooler latitudes. On the palate, it is upright, savory, and long, fresh and crisp, with a pronounced minerality and vibrant acidity. Italian Riesling is characterized by being fruitier and less "petroleum-like" than its German counterparts, thanks primarily to the milder climate. It pairs beautifully with spicy foods, Asian cuisine, complex fish, shellfish, and blue cheeses. Perfect with fusion specialties and dishes with sweet and sour notes.

Riesling is considered one of the most difficult white grapes to vinify, highly distinctive and distinctive. The Germans are universally recognized as the best Riesling producers, but in Italy the variety expresses a profile more oriented towards exotic fruit and less towards hydrocarbons, precisely due to the milder temperatures. It is also occasionally produced in Sicily, primarily in the mountains to ensure the pleasant temperature range necessary for the grape variety—just as flowers are more fragrant in the mountains, so too are the wines. Pojer and Sandri grow Riesling Renano in Faedo, in the Palai area, at 700 meters above sea level. The wine ages on the lees in small acacia barrels, creating a modern and complex Riesling. The winery uses screw caps as an eco-friendly choice to avoid cutting down cork trees, demonstrating their environmental awareness.
