Description:

Ruby red in color with intense garnet highlights, the nose offers a bouquet of fresh dark fruits—black cherry, blackberry, and plum—with spicy notes and floral hints of violet and tobacco. On the palate, it is balanced and silky, with a great structure, firm, well-integrated tannins, and a pleasant freshness that lends drinkability to a long, fruity finish with hints of licorice. Versatile with traditional Umbrian first courses, such as tagliatelle with Chianina beef ragù or gnocchi with duck sauce, it also pairs beautifully with medium-bodied meat dishes such as rabbit cacciatore or braised beef cheek, as well as local cured meats such as Norcia prosciutto and Umbrian capocollo.

A pure and authentic interpretation of Umbrian Sangiovese, the grapes come from the company's vineyards located on the hills of Todi and cultivated according to sustainable principles. After fermentation, the wine ages primarily in stainless steel, with a couple of years in large oak barrels to preserve the freshness of the fruit while it develops complexity. The 2021 vintage, characterized by a warm summer but with good temperature ranges, produced a wine with excellent structure and pleasantness.
