Description:

Intense ruby ​​red in the glass, it reveals notes of red fruits, cherry, and blackberry on the nose, with spicy nuances and a delicate balsamic touch. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasant freshness that lends drinkability. The finish lingers on fruity notes. Excellent with pasta dishes with ragù, grilled red meats, roasts, and medium-aged cheeses. It pairs beautifully with Umbrian dishes such as porchetta, pigeon, and black truffle-based dishes.

Montefalco Rosso is the "little brother" of the more famous Sagrantino, produced in the same area but with a production protocol that requires a blend of grape varieties. Roccafiore, a winery run by the Baccarelli family since 1999, is fully committed to environmental sustainability and organic farming. Their interpretation of this wine combines the finesse of Sangiovese with the structure of Sagrantino and the smoothness of Merlot. It ages for 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and then spends at least six months in the bottle. The 2022 vintage, favored by favorable weather, produced a balanced and highly enjoyable wine.
