Description:

Intense golden yellow in color with amber highlights, it's rich and complex on the nose, revealing a bouquet of dried apricot, honey, and candied exotic fruit, along with notes of saffron and acacia blossom. On the palate, it's sweet and enveloping, supported by a refreshing acidity that enhances its complexity and prevents cloying. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of dried fruit and honey. Excellent paired with dark chocolate and dry pastries, as well as with both blue and aged cheeses.

Torcolato is one of the most prestigious dessert wines in the Veneto region, boasting exceptional longevity. Produced by Maculan in the Breganze area, its name derives from the drying method used for the Vespaiola grapes, which are hand-harvested in October and then "torcolate"—braided into small bunches and hung to dry until January. After pressing, the must ferments slowly in French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. The 2020 vintage stands out for its excellent balance between sweetness and acidity.
