Description:
Bright amber yellow in color with golden highlights, it offers an intensely aromatic bouquet of dried apricot, acacia honey, and elderflower, with notes of candied citrus and a delicate finish of sweet spices. On the palate, it is sweet and elegant, supported by a refreshing acidity that balances the sweetness, lending balance and great drinkability. The finish is long and persistent. Excellent with dry pastries, especially shortbread biscuits and almond-based desserts, it pairs wonderfully with typical Venetian "fugassa" and slightly aged soft cheeses. A classic local pairing is with Veronese pandoro or the buckwheat and honey cake typical of the Euganean Hills.
Quota 101, a young winery located in the Euganean Hills, produces this passito wine from Moscato Bianco grapes grown at 101 meters above sea level (hence the winery's name). The grapes are harvested by hand and left to dry under the famous "Gelso di Lapo," a centuries-old tree that has become the winery's symbol. The natural drying process lasts approximately two months, during which the grapes lose water and concentrate their sugars and aromas. After gentle pressing, the must ferments slowly at a controlled temperature and ages in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and varietal aromas.
