Description:

Ruby red tending towards garnet, it boasts a refined bouquet ranging from intense notes of violet to fruity notes of morello cherry and wild blackberry, with spicy nuances of sweet tobacco and cocoa. On the palate, it is smooth and enjoys a pleasant balance between acidity and velvety tannins, making it an excellent accompaniment to traditional Venetian meat dishes in sauce.

Made from the native Raboso Piave grape, Vino de Venegia is a historic variety widely distributed throughout the region, both for its high yield and its versatility in winemaking. It's also traditionally called "vin da viajo" (travel wine) for its ability to withstand long journeys thanks to its high acidity and tannins. Here, it's made from a portion of dried grapes, aged on fine lees in cement vats for 12 months, and then in barriques for 24 months.
